1. Today with the Critical Current, I learned about recent news stories, the definition of "news literacy," and how to use news literacy.
2. News literacy is the ability or skill to determine if a modern news story is credible or not. It usually is done through a questionnaire type of thinking asking many questions to determine the final product. 3. The role of news in a democracy is simple, it educates the public about problems the government or media is facing as well as reporting positive topics as well. This is how the people of a country end up learning about what is happening about the world around them. 4. The role that we, the public, take in news is that we are the receivers. We are the ones who take time to listen about the news so we can determine how the world is coping with all that we face and what are reactions should be. |
