The following image is describing the mind perceiving an object. When the mind is perceiving something, it is thinking. Descartes' quote, "I think, therefore I am," applies to this image because thinking is an irrefutable truth (undeniable fact) and what do you do when your mind perceives? That's right, you think. Though remember, the mind thinking and perceiving is an irrefutable truth, but the object perceived isn't. Those objects can change due to everyone's perspective being different, meaning it is not just one thing. This in other words shows that the mind thinking is the only thing that can be proven true, because you know you are thinking when you do so.
